Champions League
Manchester United finished in the Champions League last year after the group stage and they will not want to repeat that mistake this year. But that means they will have to manage away games, where they lost both Leipzig and especially Basaksehir last year.
At Old Trafford, they believe Cristiano Ronaldo, who hit the net twice in his Red Devils' renewed debut against Newcastle, will help them back to glory and the top scorer in Champions League history will be highly motivated again today. Even without him, Man United have a great attacking power, in the four opening rounds of the Premier League they have scored ten times, but on the other hand they have kept a clean sheet only once.
On the Young Boys' artificial grass, for every opponent is playing badly; in the three qualification matches Bern scored three goals (3:2, 3:1, 3:2), and in the weekend's Swiss league clash their players scored four times, when they home beat 4:0 Zurych.
Young Boys made it through three qualification rounds. Slovan Bratislava, CFR Cluj and lastly Ferencváros from Hungary were knocked out. They are currently in 4th place in the Swiss league with 8 points and a 9:5 score, which is quite disappointing by their standards.
For me, Manchester is the obvious favourite in the group and it would be a big surprise if they don't get advanced from the first place. On the other hand, Y.B. are the outsiders of this group, but I don't think their chances of qualifying for at least the Europa League are non-existent. Atalanta and Villareal are both playable opponents for them.
H2H: (CL - group stage / 2018)
Man Utd 1:0 Young Boys
Young Boys 0:3 Man Utd
My bet:
Handicap: Man United -1.5 @ 2.10 (local bookie)
