Champions League

Manchester United finished in the Champions League last year after the group stage and they will not want to repeat that mistake this year. But that means they will have to manage away games, where they lost both Leipzig and especially Basaksehir last year.
At Old Trafford, they believe Cristiano Ronaldo, who hit the net twice in his Red Devils' renewed debut against Newcastle, will help them back to glory and the top scorer in Champions League history will be highly motivated again today. Even without him, Man United have a great attacking power, in the four opening rounds of the Premier League they have scored ten times, but on the other hand they have kept a clean sheet only once.
On the Young Boys' artificial grass, for every opponent is playing badly; in the three qualification matches Bern scored three goals (3:2, 3:1, 3:2), and in the weekend's Swiss league clash their players scored four times, when they home beat 4:0 Zurych.

Young Boys made it through three qualification rounds. Slovan Bratislava, CFR Cluj and lastly Ferencváros from Hungary were knocked out. They are currently in 4th place in the Swiss league with 8 points and a 9:5 score, which is quite disappointing by their standards.

For me, Manchester is the obvious favourite in the group and it would be a big surprise if they don't get advanced from the first place. On the other hand, Y.B. are the outsiders of this group, but I don't think their chances of qualifying for at least the Europa League are non-existent. Atalanta and Villareal are both playable opponents for them.

H2H: (CL - group stage / 2018)
Man Utd 1:0 Young Boys
Young Boys 0:3 Man Utd

My bet:
Handicap: Man United -1.5 @ 2.10 (local bookie)

Not a traditional time of kick-off but of course I'm here to come up with some bet. 🤞

Ronaldo talking about gaining confidence, he knows exactly that the quality is here and MU has chances to get far far in the UEFA Champions League. I think after the match with Newcastle cofidence grew up nicely and in my eyes that's the most important thing too. Also it's pretty to see Pogba being happy, at least he seems happy, you know he was all about leaving this team and I can't hate him about that, it was so understandable... Now we can see absolutely different team and also the team spirit. Pogba doing amazing job as he got already 7 assists in the EPL after only 4 matches!

This has to be one sided, I agree with your tip @Giovanni but as far as I see them struggle to deal with counter attacks, I'm still not sure this will be 2+ goals difference.

With Ronaldo upfront, if you watched Newcastle game, there were like million crosses into the box, not only from the side of the pitch but also directs from middle. This points me to my bet that would be corners for Man Utd. Newcastle defended very well and they were disciplined and organized, yet Man Utd still managed to get 7 corners in that game where many were right from the crosses, when defender doesn't look around and just head the ball out for corner.

With Young Boys weak defense in the qualification, I can't see them defend as properly as Newcastle against such team like Man United. I expect many crosses again. It will be Ronaldo himself who could get many corners, but he will also make space for quick players like Sancho or Greenwood, who could get corner kicks from side plays... and there is also Bruno Fernandes, who has no fear to take shots from outside the box, another possible corner kicks.

As I said, Man Utd still struggle to deal with counter attacks so I expect Young Boys to get some corner kicks too, especially when losing I'm sure they could get 3 or 4, it's the UCL, even Man Utd will be more cautious about their box plays.

Today, I will be cheering for Manchester United of course, but also for many many corner kicks 😁

My bets to enjoy Champions League opener:

Race to 7 corner kicks - Man Utd @ 2,25

Over 9,5 corners total @ 1,825
First half over 4,5 corners total @ 1,875

First corner kick before 10:00 @ 1,53

I recommend you to pick the most reasonable from this if interested. My bets are high risk and also to enjoy Man Utd games and as these bets are interdependent, this could lead to huge KO. But also easy quadruple OK🍀... enjoy!

all went wrong for me o_O

No corner in the first 10 minutes ❌
2 corners in the first half ❌

Remaining bets are very unreal to be OK... red card for Wan-Bissaka, one goal lead for Man United...

I hope there will be at least 10 corners in the game as it would reduce the damage 🙏

My bet:
Handicap: Man United -1.5 @ 2.10 (local bookie)
Young Boys 2:1 Man United = Bet KO (n)

Young Boys scorers: Nicolas Ngamaleu (66'), Jordan Siebatcheu (90'+5')
Manchester United scorer: Cristiano Ronaldo (13')

35' Aaron Wan-Bissaka Red Card (Man Utd)

Manchester United failed to win their opening Champions League match, losing 1:2 to Bern. The match started with another Cristiano Ronaldo goal, but the Swiss opponent managed to take advantage of Aaron Wan-Bissako's red card in the 35th minute and shocked football Europe with a goal in the 90+5´.

Anything other than finishing first in the group is unacceptable. You expect a team if Ronaldo, Pogba, Sancho, Bruno, Varane, Maguire, De Gea, Shaw to go through to the knockouts with ease. If Ole fails again then he has to go. (n)

It was Lingard's goal, Ole's worst substitution ever... Ronaldo for Lingard who assists game winning goal in the last minute of the match... unlucky, that's football 😬

Only other win for YB in the Champions League was against Juve with Ronaldo three years ago, now they win against Ronaldo again. Well done YB! 👏
