WTA - SINGLES: Moscow (Russia) - Qualification, hard (indoor) - Semi-finals
This match will offer us a duel between Bulgarian tennis player Viktoria Tomova (116) and Anastasia Tikhonova (268) from Russia.
Tomova is a 26-year-old player and the highest she has been ranked is 104th (June 2021). This year she played her best on clay, having played SF in Bogotá and Belgrade and ITF in Valencia. Hard courts and indoor didn't work out well for her and she has a negative match score on them this year. Her last appearance was in qualifying at Indian Wells, where she surrendered in the 2nd set to Australia's Hon.
Tikhonova is a 20-year-old tennis player and is currently at her ranking maximum. She is an excellent hard court and indoor player and together she has a 42/12 score on these surfaces this year. She won the indoor title in Shymkent, where she played one more final. She also enjoyed success on hard in Nur Sultan, where she was again unbeaten and added one more final in Porto.
In this match, I will trust the home tennis player, who is comfortable in the hall, unlike her opponent, who is half-assed off the clay. Tomova didn't even play to the end last time, so it's possible that she won't be completely 100% health-wise.
Anastasia Tikhonova to win @ 2.16
