WTA - SINGLES: Chicago 2 (USA), hard - 1/16-finals
Rogers is an American tennis player, so she will have the home court advantage in Chicago, and the crowd will surely be supporting her. Rogers may be ranked as high as 43rd in the rankings, but she can definitely play on hard. This year she has a 15:10 score on hard and her biggest win came at the US Open, where she beat then world number one Barty 6:2, 1:6, 7:6. At the US Open, Rogers eventually finished in the 1/8-finals to the later tournament winner Raducanu (0:2).
Here in Chicago in Round 1, Rogers beat Cabrera in 69 minutes. She helped herself mainly with her serve, winning 91% of her exchanges after the 1st serve, losing only two.
Andreescu is a talented Canadian who has already managed to win the US Open, but this season hasn't been very successful, only in Miami, where she reached the final, which she lost to Barty (1:0 - Andreescu retired). In the last tournaments, however, it was not the same again, Andreescu reached the third round in Montreal, where she fell to Jabeur. In Cincinnati, she fell in the second round to Muchova and at the US Open she reached the 1/8-finals, where she lost to Sakkari. In the first three rounds of US Open Andreescu beat Golubic, Davis and Minnen, all weaker players.
I didn't really like her game at the US Open, I think Rogers' fast and aggressive style might work for her. I'll add that Andreescu had a free draw in the 1st round, which could be a slight advantage for Rodgers, who will be more played out.
