New Jersey Devils are coming to Winnipeg. I'll play a double bet here on the home team to win, but I'm not expecting a shootout. The visitors played a tough game tonight at the Western Conference leader Minnesota and lost 5:2, so they might be struggling with possible fatigue. They'll face a rested Winnipeg tonight. On the other hand, Jets are currently out of form, with a score of 1-6-0 in their last 7 games, but should be added that they have played five games away. At home they have a little better numbers (7-3-1).
The home defense with Connor Hellebuyck is such a little safety , because in 9 of their last 10 games they got 2 goals at most which was beautifully seen in the game against Arizona (guests have 15 shots and a 0:1 win). What else is playing cards for the home team is that the visitors are not doing well at all in Winnipeg and out of the last 8 games here they lost 7 and the last time they took a win here in 2016.
The visitors will simply have a hard time here because they don't have any special numbers on offense. Devils are ranked 18th and are averaging only 2.9 goals per game. Jets are just doing even worse (2.68). Also, both are failing on the power play, 22nd and 30th in the entire NHL speaks for itself.
Overall, Jets offensive line is very shaky. They've scored two or fewer goals in six of their last seven games. On the other hand, Connor Hellebuyck has been in pretty good form in goal, so that's why I'm going with the rested home team who can do it at home, but I don't believe we'll see any shootout here and we should fit in 7 goals.
My bet:
Winnipeg Jets to win and Under 7.5 Goals @ 2.33
