Premier League
After two victorious duels to open the new Premier League season, two somewhat unexpected losses came for West Ham. First, they drew 2-2 at home to Crystal Palace and then had to settle for a goalless draw at the end of the game at Southampton.
The main loss for the Hammers ahead of the tough clash with Manchester United is the absence of the league's top scorer Michail Antonio (4 goals), who saw a second yellow card at the end of the last match and will not start against United. But West Ham is not only Antonio and four other players have managed to be among the scorers in the first four rounds.
The Red Devils, on the other hand, have a clear 4-1 win over Newcastle in the last round, with two goals from the ageless Cristiano Ronaldo. He also made his mark in the week Manchester lost to Bern in the Champions League and has scored 63 goals in 68 Champion League matches since turning 30.
Considering Ronaldo's form, it is quite likely that he will be one of the scorers again in this match and together with his Portuguese compatriot Fernandes, will lead United to another win.
H2H: Last season
Man Utd 1:0 West Ham
Man Utd 1:0 West Ham - after overtime (FA Cup)
West Ham 1:3 Man Utd
My bet:
Manchester United @ 1.72 (bet365)
