Russia is doing well in the World Cup qualification so far. After 5 games played they have 10 points. They are currently in 1st place.
They also confirmed their qualities in their last match on the soil of Cyprus, where Russia managed to win 2:0.
But there is still a lot to do to qualify for the World Cup, or at least to the promotion. The second Croatia has the same number of points. In addition, third place Slovenia has only three points less. Russia cannot afford to lose points to teams like Malta if they wants to play in the World Cup.
Malta played poorly in their last match on Slovenia's soil. They didn't come up with anything good in the whole game. They was only under pressure for quite a large part of the game. Then they sent one shot on the opponent's target during the whole game. They deservedly lost 0:1.
In this match I believe that Russia, who have a much stronger squad, form and home advantage
Russia played their first group match away against Malta and won 3:1.
