In the final game of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers for Qatar, expect nothing but an Israel win against the minnows from the Faroe Islands, and I'm going to play the handicap here.
Israel is ranked 80th in the FIFA rankings. The value of their squad is 43 million euros and includes several well-known names: defender Dasa (Arnhem), midfielders Peretz (Venice), Bitton (Celtic), Natcho (Partizan Belgrade) and offensive players Salomon (Shakhtar Donetsk), Abada (Celtic), Zahavi (PSV), Weissman (Valladolid) or Dabur (Hoffenheim). They are third in the table with a 4-1-4 score, a score ahead of Austria.
Faroe Islands are ranked 116th in the FIFA rankings. Value of their playing squad is 3.5 million euros. In serious leagues are only: goalkeeper Nielsen (Iceland), defender Nattestad (Dundalk), defender Davidsen and midfielder Hansson (both Veljle) and forwards Edmundsson (Beveren) and Knudsen (Lyngby). They are 5th in the qualification table having won 4 points for a 1-1-7 score, all points against Moldova.
Even though the home team is no longer playing for direct promotion, they are still in contention for third place against Austria. This is important in terms of the national coefficient as well as for future qualifiers. At the moment the Israelis are two goals better off. They just must beat minnows and I think it could be by a higher difference at home.
H2H:
Faroe Islands 0:4 Israel
Ball possession - 41% : 59%
Goal attempts - 9:13
Shots on goal - 1:9
Prediction:
Asian Handicap: Israel -1.5 @ 1.72 (bet365)
