NORTH AMERICA: World Cup - Qualification
Canada is one of the strongest in North America. This fact was confirmed in the Gold Cup, in which they managed to reach the semi-finals. There they were knocked out by a strong Mexico 2-1, who scored the winning goal in 90+9´ minute. Still, Canada certainly didn't have to be ashamed of their performance during the tournament.
At the World Cup qualification, Canada has 2 points after 2 games. In the first match Canada drew 1-1 with Honduras at home. In the second match they drew away 1:1 against the strong USA. Despite the fact that the USA was the favourite in the match, the course of the match did not reflect this. Canada was able to create good chances in match, but unfortunately for them, they were only able to score one of them. Still, a point on US soil is not bad at all.
Their opponent is El Salvador. They were knocked out of the Gold Cup in the quarterfinals after lost by a weak Qatar 2-3.
