NHL
The home team goes into the game with a 14-4-5 score (7-1-3 at home) and the visiting team with a 7-12-2 score (2-7-1 away).
I shouldn't make Chicago the outsiders, as they have won 6 of their last 9 games, but even so, the quality is simply on the home side, who are having a great season so far.
Washington are in 3rd place in the Eastern Conference (by score) with 33 points and a score of 82-57. In their last action, they were defeated by Florida 4-5 after a disastrous 3rd period. (They were still up 4-1 at the start of the 3rd period.) Chicago is 14th in the Western Conference with just 16 points and a 45-67 score. In their last match at home they were defeated by San Jose 0:2. Chicago is absolutely not doing well in away games and they are the worst team in the Western Conference. Washington is playing great hockey led by Alex Ovechkin. Washington has a good score with Chicago, where they have always beaten them in the last 3 games.
Washington vs Chicago (standings)
* goals scored per game: 3.565 (5th) vs 2.095 (30th)
* goals conceded per game: 2.478 (4th) vs 3.190 (25th)
* shots on goal per game: 30.96 (18th) vs 28.05 (31st)
* success shooting percentage: 11.52% (3rd) vs 7.47% (29th)
* shot success rate of all goalies: 91.20% (10th) vs 90.00% (26th)
Washington are the favourites, they will have support of the fans, they have a shooting drive and they don't concede many goals. Chicago, on the other hand, is toothless, they have almost the worst stats in NHL in shots on goal per game. What they are decent at is their shorthanded play, and that won't be enough for points.
My bet:
3-Way: Washington Capitals @ 1.80 (bet365)
