Here is the game between Washington Capitals and Buffalo Sabres at the Capital One Arena, Washington's home ice, where I believe in Washington to win.
Washington Capitals: 8th in the Eastern Conference, 14 points with a 37:29 score
Buffalo Sabres: 11th in the Eastern Conference, 12 points with a 33:31 score
Washington's last 4 games:
Washington - Philadelphia 1:2
Florida - Washington 5:4 (after overtime)
Tampa - Washington 3:2
Washington - Arizona 2:0
Washington is in 8th place in the Eastern Conference, with the 9th-12th teams having 12 points and a loss could drop Washington down the table, which they certainly don't want to let happen and they don't want to lose 2 times in a row in front of their home fans. Washington has lost 3 of their last 4 games, but aside from Arizona, those were against strong opponents.
Washington definitely has quality players on the team, when you look at the players who have scored 5 or more points, you see these players:
Defense: John Carlson 8 points
Offense: Evgeni Kuznetsov 13 points, Antony Mantha 6 points (injured), T.J. Antony Mantegna 6 points (injured), Alexander Ovechkin 18 points and Tom Wilson
Buffalo's last 4 games:
Buffalo - Detroit 3:4 (after overtime)
Seattle - Buffalo 5:2
San Jose - Buffalo 5:3
Los Angeles - Buffalo 3:2
Buffalo is in 11th place in the Eastern Conference, which as mentioned above is very narrow. Buffalo's play has improved compared to last season and the season before, when they didn't have a bad start to the season, but now they are not doing so well and have lost their last 4 games against weaker opponents, not like Washington.
Buffalo has players who have scored 5 or more points in their team, when you look at them they are here:
Defence: Jakob Brusin 5 points and Rasmus Dahlin 6 points
Offense: Rasmus Asplund 10 points, Dylan Cozens 5 points, Zegmus Girgensons 6 points, Vinni Hinostroza 5 points, Kyle Okopso 6 points, Victor Olofsson 9 points (injured), Jeff Skinner 6 points and Tage Thompson 7 points.
Here you can see that both teams have players who can score, and also injured players, but the experience is on Washington's side and the home ice advantage. Washington should take care of this game and win at home.
My bet:
3-Way: Washington Capitals @ 1.58 (bet365)
