ATP - hard - 1/64-finals
Lorenzo Musetti - 19 years, 60th in the world, Italy.
This year's score has 30/21, 8/6 of them on the hard surface. No title this year.
Lorenzo is a very talented young player who has already mastered the most difficult step, to move from the juniors and make his way to the men.
He also won a GS among the juniors. Interestingly, he won the junior AO in 2019 against Emilio Nava, whom he beat in a very close match 4:6 / 6:2 / 7:6.
Emilio Nava - 19 years, 385th in the world, USA.
This year's score has 31/8, 9/4 on the hard surface. One Futures title.
I'm saying right now that it's a risk bet. Lorenzo is obviously the favourite. But I'll write a few points why I think Emilio can win.
- He's playing at home and the crowd will support him.
- Lorenzo is in poor form. Yes, he didn't have easy opponents, but he has 6 losses in a row, in 3 of them he was the favorite (Laaksonen, Millman, Coria).
- They know each other from their junior years and Emilio knows he's got it in for him. It won't be as hard for Emilio as if he goes into a match against a top player he doesn't know. He knows what to play and what to prepare for. He's going to want to show that he's up to this level.
Emilio Nava to win @ 3.40 (bet365)
