Premier League
The next London derby in this round will be a clash between Tottenham and newcomer Brentford, with both teams competing for the first time in the top league. Antonio Conte's men made an unnecessary trip to Burnley on Sunday, where it snowed heavily from the morning and the match was postponed less than an hour before kick-off. We will have to wait for the replay due to the busy schedule, but Tottenham must quickly concentrate on the next game, in which they will defend their last home league victory over Leeds (2-1). However, Spurs failed to respond well to that as they lost 1-2 to Slovenia's Mura in the Conference Europa League. Spurs are up to ninth in the league with nineteen points, but it has to be said that unlike the clubs ahead of them, they are two games less. If they succeed in both of them, they can easily move up to the fourth position guaranteeing participation in the Champions League, but of course it is too early for that.
Brentford last time out, they beat Everton 1-0 to end their five-match wait for a league win. Coach Thomas Frank's side have moved back into the calm waters of mid-table and currently hold a comfortable seven-point lead for survival. The visitors can go into the tough match relatively untroubled and try to surprise. However, the strength of the home team and the experience of their coach will decide the game.
Tottenham have a lot to make up for after the Slovenian shame and I believe that under coach Conte they will be as prepared and focused as possible and will be able to handle the game against the newcomer.
My bet:
Tottenham @ 1.60 (bet365)
