TEAMS - WOMEN: Billie Jean King Cup - World Group (World)
This match will offer us a duel between Spain and Slovakia, specifically between Nuria Parrizas Diaz (66) and Kristina Kučová (108).
Parrizas is a 30-year-old tennis player who is currently one position away from her ranking maximum. She is having the season of her life this year, having won 5 ITF titles and even 2 WTA titles. Her most recent triumph was at the Columbus Indoor where she defeated Baptiste, Haddad Maiu, Zheng S and in the final Wang Xinyu. This will be her first time in this team event.
Kucova is a 31-year-old player and she was also ranked 71st (September 2016). She is strongest on clay and has one final appearance in Gdynia, where she fell to Zanevska. She was 12/14 on hard and has not appeared indoors this year. She has played singles in Fed Cup a total of 4 times and has only won in her debut in 2008 against Israel's Katic.
In this match, for me, the big favourite is the Spanish player, who is playing famously this year and I expect her to sell her actual form and get the first point for her team.
