NHL
The NHL's newcomer Seattle Kraken will play for the first time ever against last year's Stanley Cup champion Tampa Bay.
Tampa is in good form, which is the most important factor for me in this bet. There is no need to talk about their quality and what is also important is that they quickly recovered from the weekend game against New Jersey, in which they lost the lead 3-1 in the third period and lost 3-5, which was a shock. After that, they beat a strong Minnesota team after penalty shootout and beat Philadelphia 4-0. The team is in 6th place in the East, but the lead is within reach.
While Seattle's optimists expected more, I didn't. They haven't scored half as many points as Tampa in the same number of games played and they are one of the worst teams in the West, in fact, in the NHL overall. They are 15th (second to last), which they defends ahead of the worst team, Arizona. Seattle surprised with a win over Washington a few days back, but other than that, they're losing all they can. Its roster is nowhere near as strong as Tampa's and the coaches and management, led by legend Ron Francis, have failed to set good chemistry.
I think Tampa with their squad and chemistry plus actual form should smash them.
My bet:
Tampa Bay Lightning to win in regular time @ 1.76 (bet365)
