Czech Extraliga
Sparta is slowly coming out of the crisis, having lost eight games in a row, and now they have a three-game winning streak that they will be looking to build on. They beat Hradec 8:3, then Liberec 4:1 and last time they beat Karlovy Vary 5:4 after overtime. Sparta went into the third period with a 4:2 lead, Vary managed to tie the score, but the captain Řepík had the last word in overtime (he has a 4+1 score in the last three games). The return of Erik Thorello, who was out of the lineup for a couple of games, also helped and he leads the league in scoring (12+21).
Zlín has won five points of the last four games, winning twice in a row for the first time this season (3:2 against Olomouc and 2:1 after overtime against Trinec). But then came two games without a point, first a 1:3 loss to Boleslav and then a 1:2 loss to Plzeň. Zlín are still in the last place, 11 points behind Kladno (second to last) and half of the season is approaching. Moreover, the team has lost two important players Tomáš Mikúš and Peter Trška, who left as the two most productive players of the team (currently the most productive player of the guests is Antonín Honejsek on 105th place). Recently, Russian forward Vladimir Mikhasyonok arrived from Khabarovsk and Adam Zbořil was traded for Brno's Alexander Mallet.
Sparta should be the favourite, they are coming out of the crisis and have a very dangerous attack, which has produced the most goals (91) so far. The home team should win by at least two goals.
My bet:
Asian Handicap: Sparta Prague -1.5 @ 1.65 (bet365)
