Premier League
In the 20th round of the Premier League, Southampton, who are currently 14th in the table, will play Tottenham who are fifth.
Southampton have a score of one win, three draws and one loss in their last five league games. In their last league game played on 26.12. they beat West Ham 3:2. It was a fairly even match, helped by Southampton's goal from a penalty. West Ham's defence was not 100% in this match and their opponents were quite lucky that all their dangerous shots fell into the net. In the match before, they only drew at the Crystal Palace ground, which is twelfth in the table. Southampton currently have three players with covid in their squad - defender Lyanco (played eight league games), defender Jack Stephens (played six league games) and midfielder Nathan Tella (played eight league games). In goal, goalkeeper Fraser Forster came on against West Ham for the injured Alex McCarthy. This was the first league game for the goalkeeper in which he conceded two goals from six shots on target. Ibrahima Diallo, Adam Armstrong and Che Adams, who were rested in the last game, will start the game.
Tottenham have a score of four wins and one draw in their last five league games. In their last league game on 26.12. they played against twelfth placed Crystal Palace and won 3:0. They were clearly the better team in the match (shots total 17:4, ball possession 60%). In the match before that, they had a 2-1 win over West Ham in the cup and drew 2-2 with Liverpool on 19 December. Before that they recorded a run of three wins against Norwich, Brentford and Leeds, who are in the second half of the table. Long-term injured defender Cristian Gabriel Romero and defender Ryan Sessegnon will not be available for Tottenham. None of the players picked up new injuries from the game against Crystal Palace. On the other hand, the healed striker Bryan Gil may well hit this match so that the coach can spare other players due to the packed schedule of all teams.
Tottenham have won their last three games and with another win will be looking to attack the fourth place, which guarantees participation in the Champions League group stage. They have all the players who started in the last league game and some newly healthy ones. In contrast, Southampton are starting with a goalkeeping number two who has only played one league game. Tottenham have not lost a league game since the arrival of coach Antonio Conte and if they don't lose this game as well, the Italian coach will become the first coach in the club's history to start his tenure here with seven league games without a defeat. I'm believing in a Tottenham win
My bet:
Tottenham @ 2.10 (bet365)
