31.10.21 - 18:00 CET
Czech Republic: 1. Liga
Slavia Prague:
- 4th place
- 29 points from 12 games with a score of 30:11
- Home games: 15 points from 5 games with a score of 14:3
- Form: 10 points from 5 matches with a score of 10:5
Plzen:
- 1st place in the table
- 33 points from 12 games with a score of 23:8
- Away games: 12 points from 5 games with a score of 5:2
- Form: 15 points from 5 matches with a score of 11:2
Slavia Prague dominated the last few years in the Czech Republic and were unquestionably the best in league. This season they are not so dominant anymore and there are a lot of things complicating the situation in Slavia. The biggest complication is injuries of key players. Mostly in the defensive line. Slavia has always been great at defending, but this year they are getting too many cheap goals. The second thing is the strength of the midfield. Compared to last season, they are having a harder time creating chances and when they have chances, they struggle in the finishing.
Plzen is a big surprise! Nobody expected to be first in the league with a 4 point lead. Plzen lost points to Hradec, when they lost by a goal. This loss was influenced by mentality, when they failed in the Conference League against CSKA Sofia. The team has minor financial problems, but Šadek confirmed that a new owner/investor will come in by the end of 2021 to stabilize the club. This news are very positive for Plzen fans
The last time Plzen won at Slavia was in 2014, the match ended 0:2 for Plzen. Plzen hasn't won anything in Eden since 2014.
I absolutely don't understand how such odds can be written when I look at the state of the teams. Plzen is much stronger under Bilek than under coach Gula. The team looks very mentally strong even when they were down in the game, they managed to turn the game around. Slavia is struggling. On top of that a pretty tough schedule with many injuries.
My bet:
Double Chance: Draw or Viktoria Plzen @ 2.25 (bet365)
