The newcomer from Venice is not yet fulfilling the goals they set before the season. They currently hold the 16th position with only a point lead on the relegation places. Out of their eleven matches, they managed to win twice, draw three times and lose the remaining six matches with a total score of 8:17. This feat fits them into the role of the lowest scoring team in the competition, which is not a good statistic. Venezia last drew 0-0 at Genoa, but the fact that coach Zanetti is returning to the bench after his punishment may be a slight positive.
AS had a good start to the competition. After the change of coach and the arrival of Mourinho, they first advanced to the group stage of the European Conference League and then won four out of five matches. They were relatively successful until the week before last, when they first lost 1-0 to Juventus. Then came a shameful defeat by Norwegian Bodo/Glimt 6:1. Overall, they are defending fourth position in the league with nineteen points for six wins, a draw and four losses with a score of 19:12. In the Conference League, they captured seven points and the aforementioned one slap.
The favourite is the visiting team. The home team is in terrible form and will have to do without Vacca, Johnsen, Fiordilin and Ala-Myllymaki. AS will miss only Spinazzola and Smalling. Visitors will want to follow up on a decent game against a strong AC Milan side.
My prediction: AS Roma to win @ 1.53 (bet365)
