The change of Udinese coach has been successful. Under Gabriele Cioffi, the home side have not lost any of their three matches so far, with the opening game against AC Milan unlucky conceding in injury time (1-1). Udinese subsequently won the cup 4-0 and did the same at Cagliari, which means that they have managed to score four goals three times in their last five appearances, something they managed to do in only one game last season (Benevento 4-2). Udinese will naturally be favourites against Salernitana, in which case they haven't lost once this season (4-3-0). The full squad is also playing into their hands, with the exception of the long-term injured Pereyra, who won't start for two months.
The visitors are struggling and after their last loss to Inter (0:5) they have not scored in five matches in a row (5 losses), and it is not certain that this will not be their final match this year, as they are at risk of being expelled from the competition due to disputed ownership. Salernitana have scored the fewest goals of all (11) and conceded the most (42), losing seven of their nine away games. Their chances of getting any points are thus slim, and the presence of once-star striker Ribéry does not change that.
Prediction:
Asian Handicap: Udinese -1.5 @ 2.04 (bet365)
