Thiago Motta's men lost 1:2 to Sampdoria on Friday and will face another derby in a few days. The clash with Genoa is key for Spezia as it will be about staying out of the relegation zone, where they have a one-point lead. The home team will be hoping to repeat their last performance in front of their own fans, in which they beat Salernitana (2-1) and stay above the relegation zone, but the huge injury list of ten players is worrying the young coach.
The visitors from Genoa have six points, one less than Spezia, and have won only once this season. Coach Ballardini is also worried about the composition of his team, but that has been the case pretty much since the first round. What is for sure is that Mattia Destro, author of six of his team's 14 goals, will start in attack and should be complemented by the veteran Pandev. Ballardini will have to improve on defense, which has become a tradition for him in recent rounds. The patience of the new American owners will not be infinite and there are rumours that if Genoa fail to cope with the clash with Spezia and the subsequent weekend duel with Venezia, two competitors in the relegation battle, there will be a change.
Both teams "boast" the worst defense in the league (22 and 21 goals conceded), so we will see a lot of goals in this game.
Prediction:
Over 2.5 Goals and Both Teams to Score @ 1.83 (bet365)
