The great battles between Genoa and Venice date back to the 13th century and one more is on the schedule this year. Unlike the sea ones, this one will be all about survival in the top Italian football league, where both teams have nothing to be jealous of so far.
Genoa have won only once in the opening ten rounds and this time coach Ballardini is in real danger of repeating his eight-match wait for a win here, something that happened to him on this bench back in 2013. Genoa is the only team in the league that hasn't won a single home game yet, and given that they scored a goal in 23 games in a row here, it's obvious that the main problem is defensive.
In fact, in 20 cases during the period the opponent scored as well. Something similar would certainly be welcome for Venezia, as the visitors are the only team that hasn't scored at least ten goals this season. Last time Venezia were leading again (for the third time in a row they were the first to score), but a second half collapse cost them all the points in an important match (1:2 Salernitana). The visitors will be looking to improve their productivity and given the home team's statistics, they have the perfect opportunity to do so.
My prediction: Both Teams to Score @ 1.80 (bet365)
