After the arrival of new coach Walter Mazzarri, Cagliari played a good 2-2 draw at Lazio, but failed to score in the next two games, losing 0-2 each time. In the last case, it was not surprising at the stadium of the upstart Napoli, but the home defeat by the newcomer from Empoli still hurts a lot. Mazzarri was satisfied with his side's defensive performance after the Napoli game, which he said was an offensive machine, but they will need to show something more in the next game. However, Cagliari, along with Salernitana, are one of the two teams that have not won even once this season.
In the last 10 games, the team has only managed to keep a clean sheet once, and that was in a pre-season over a month ago. In all the other matches they have always conceded at least a goal. Often more than just a goal, including from average to below average Italian teams. If there is one thing Cagliari needs to work on, it's defense.
Venezia, on the other hand, did very well in the last round, drawing 1-1 with Torino. The newcomer hasn't impressed anyone with four points, but their last performance were really good and they were far from three points at the end of Monday's game. Coach Zanetti will be slightly worried about the health of Aramu, the equaliser scorer, who was fouled heavily late in the game. But otherwise the visitors will be ready to strike again.
They are not much better defensively either. For 8 consecutive games, Venezia has failed to keep a clean sheet, even against weak opponents.
My predictions: Over 2.5 Goals @ 1.90 / Total Goals - Cagliari - Over 1.5 Goals @ 1.90 (bet365)
