Six wins in a row have catapulted Atalanta into a direct battle for the league title, while a month ago coach Gasperini's players were ten points behind the league leaders. That gap has now been cut to just three, as Atalanta managed another tough away game in Verona (2-1) after their win in Napoli. This time they face sixth-placed AS Roma, but they remain behind expectations.
The Romans beat Spezia 2-0 last time, but their performance is still not ideal. On the positive side for the visitors, Nicolo Zaniolo and defender Mancini are back in the lineup after the expiration of their sentences, however, youngster Felix, who recently decided an away game in Genoa, will not play due to a red card.
Atalanta can look forward to the scorer of the opening goal in Napoli, Ruslan Malinovski, and Duván Zapata, who was given the first half off last time in Verona, should also start. Although Atalanta are by far the best on their opponents' ground this season, the last two home matches (Spezia 5-2, Venezia 4-0) have indicated that Atalanta will be full of points in front of their own fans. AS Rome have already lost two consecutive meetings here and their current unconvincing performances won't change that.
Prediction:
Atalanta @ 1.70 (bet365)
