Southampton showed great fight last weekend, for which they were awarded a point after a 0:0 draw at the ground of reigning champions Manchester City. Saints became the first club since 2017 to let City have a single shot on target in a full match (Stoke City did it then). A fourth draw in a row (and a second goalless draw) continues to result in the team from the south coast of England not having won in the league yet this season, and even though they have taken a point on two occasions against strong sides from Manchester (0:0 with Man City and 1:1 with Man United), perhaps a bit more was expected. But the quality of the home team should show in the match against Wolves. Last year's nine-goal scorer Che Adams is still waiting for his first goal and this year's signing Adam Armstrong (27 goals in the second league last year) has scored only once.
If the home team doesn't get it right this time, it will be a disappointment as Wolverhampton visit St. Mary's Stadium having lost four of their opening five games, scoring in none of them. The only away win at Watford (2-0) looks more like a coincidence, and new coach of Wolves ,Bruno Lage, is coming under pressure.
Prediction:
Draw No Bet: Southampton @ 1.72 (bet365)
