18.09. 16:00 CET
Saturday's English Premier League programme will see two newcomers to the league, with Norwich welcoming Watford.
Norwich, of course, have started the season badly and are last in the table after four rounds with 0 points. But if we look more closely, we see that we couldn't expect much better, Norwich play against Liverpool, Manchester City, Leicester and Arsenal. They didn't get a point out of it, but they have lost their last two games by just one goal, to Leicester 1:2 with a 76th minute goal (4:3 on shots) and to Arsenal 0:1 with a 66th minute goal (1:7 on shots). Especially the game against Leicester was quite good for Norwich and in the game against Arsenal they defended well for a long time.
Watford, like Norwich, are new to the Premier League. After four rounds they have three points and a 3:7 score and are 15th in the table. But in my eyes, they are not doing any better than Norwich. Watford's only good game was the first one against Aston Villa (3:2 at home). I would attribute that to some euphoria of promotion to the PL, after a long time the fans could be in the stadium. It's the only game Watford won not only overall but also on shots. At Brighton (0:2) they lost 1:3 on shots, at Tottenham (0:1) they lost 2:8 on shots and at home to Wolverhampton (0:2) they lost 2:5 on shots.
Last season Norwich won the Championship and have six points more than second placed Watford. Watford won both H2H matches 1-0. The first game was won by Norwich 3-1 on shots and had 65% ball possession, the second game was won by Watford 5-2 on shots and Norwich have 53% possession. Both games were evenly matched and could have gone the other way, especially the first.
But mainly Norwich have a much different team compared to these games because they have strengthened a lot. Buendia left, but Gilmour came from Chelsea, Tzolis from PAOK, Williams from Manchester United or Kabak from Schalke. Watford also changed a bit, Chalobah and Deeney left, Kucka from Parma, Tufan from Fenerbahce and Sissoko from Tottenham. I like the reinforcements more on the Norwich side.
My bet:
Norwich to win @ 2.20 (bet365)
