The opening match of the inserted round of the English Premier League will be a clash between the two currently worst-placed teams, Newcastle United and Norwich City. Both teams are in the last two places, but their current form differs significantly.
Newcastle have gained new owners and a new coach, but it hasn't shown on the pitch yet. After the last defeat at Arsenal (0:2), it remains one of the two clubs that have not kept a clean sheet in the PL this season. Newcastle are still waiting for their first win and have never experienced a worse start to a new league season.
Norwich, on the other hand, last played to a goalless draw with Wolves and have not lost for three games in a row (2-1-0), pointed four in a row in the PL last time in 2013. Norwich still have a long way to go to escape the relegation zone and have not scored a goal in five of their last six away appearances. No wonder then that they are still the least productive team in the entire competition. New away coach Dean Smith took over his team just a week after Eddie Howe was appointed here at Newcastle, but he will go into the fourth meeting between these coaches (1-0-2) in better spirits than his counterpart. This is also because he has never lost to Newcastle in the PL (3-2-0).
The new coach Dean Smith will not let his skin go cheap here, but score of the visitors from this year's away games (1-1-4), and especially the 2:16 score, is not very impressive. And beware, the away team hasn't won in this fixture since 1994 when Newcastle did (home score since then: 13-5-0). This will be the first time they have won.
Prediction:
Newcastle @ 1.95 (bet365)
