A rather unexpected ending was offered by Manchester United's last league appearance, who conceded in the 88th minute against Aston Villa and failed to equalise despite taking a penalty kick in injury time. It was taken by Bruno Fernades, but the question is whether Cristiano Ronaldo will take the ball away from him next time after that mistake.
United don't have to worry about the other results, as they are only one point behind first placed Liverpool. They will try to make amends in their next home fixture, this time against Everton, who beat Norwich 2-0 at home last time and have the same number of points as their opponent (13pts.).
The biggest difference I see in the squad of both teams, Man Utd is more or less complete, but Everton will be missing players like Richarlison, Calvert Lewin, Coleman, Delph, Gomes and the question mark hangs over goalkeeper Pickford.
Rafael Benitez's team hasn't shown the most convincing performance so far, even though they are doing well so far, the real test awaits them in this round against Manchester United.
Statistically Everton, even though they've played teams from the bottom of the table so far, have an average ball possession per game of 42.5% compared to Man United's 58.8 which seems to me to be the key factor, where I expect Everton to play a waiting game and Manchester United to have quality.
H2H:
Man Utd 4:0 Everton (Friendly - 07.08.21)
Prediction:
Asian Handicap: Manchester United -1.0 @ 2.04 (bet365)
