Manchester United, after two postponed matches in a row, played at Newcastle on Monday, but it turned out that the break did not benefit them. The 1-1 draw was saved in the second half by striker Cavani and, given the number of chances for the home side, goalkeeper De Gea. However, United maintained their current seven-match unbeaten run (4-3-0) and will be big favourites against Burnley. After all, they have more points only in two occasions in the past 11 years at this stage of the competition. Burnley last played in the Premier League on 12 December, when they played a goalless draw at West Ham. If it weren't for the fact that the home side are struggling for survival due to their inability to score goals (14) and have failed to score three times in a row, this would probably normally be a cause for celebration. However, coach Sean Dyche knows his players have to work hard and the fact that they have three games in hand on some of their relegation rivals may give them a slight psychological advantage. But that alone won't get them points, and they need to break their five-game streak without a win (0-4-1), and more importantly, start "converting" the high number of draws into at least a couple of wins. But that's not an option today, United have won both games here against teams currently in 16th place or worse, and each time it was by at least three goals.
H2H: (last season)
Man Utd 3:1 Burnley
Burnley 0:1 Man Utd
Prediction:
Asian Handicap: Manchester United -1.0 @ 1.60 (bet365)
