Manchester City responded well to their first round defeat at Tottenham Stadium, winning four in a row. Even after the second win (against Arsenal), coach Guardiola joked that his team had gone from being written off to being feared again in less than 14 days. City kept three clean sheets in the four league matches, but especially in three matches they managed to score at least five goals. The last time their offense was on fire in Wednesday's Champions League match, when they scored a six goals against Leipzig.
Southampton could talk about something similar - they conceded five goals here this March. The visitors are still waiting for their first league win (3 draws, 1 loss) and that's unlikely to change this time around. Saints' only success this season came in the cup tie with Newport, who they beat them 8-0. But last time out, they couldn't score a single goal against West Ham.
This time there should definitely be no shortage of goals, at least in the visitors' net, and Adam Armstrong, the author of last year's 28 second league goals, could also make his mark in addition to the home shooters.
Prediction:
Over 3.5 Goals @ 1.90 (bet365)
