Chelsea are very strong this season and will surely fight until the last rounds for the title, however, last weekend they fell for the first time to another title aspirant - Manchester City, who are the defending champions. And over the week Chelsea didn't make it through the Champions League game away against Juventus. They were better in the game but couldn't score the goald, Juventus have the bus parked and Chelsea struggled to get into it and didn't find the right way.
In the current season they have won the Super Cup, they have one win and one loss in the Champions League and in th league they are in third place with a 4-1-1 with a nice 12-2 score and one point behind the leading duo Liverpool - Man City.
Southampton are playing in the league for the tenth season in a row and under coaches Pochettino and Ronald Koeman they have even played in the European Cup twice, but in the last four seasons they have finished in the second half of the table and apart from one 11th place finish they have been 15th, 16th and 17th which is already pretty deep. Something similar can be expected in this season in which they are still waiting for their first win and with a score of 0-4-2 they are in 16th place, having conceded only 7 goals, but they have scored only four.
Chelsea hasn't won their last three games against Southampton, but score is 8-3-1 in Chelsea's favour in the last 12 games. So if Chelsea want to stay at the top of the table they need to be able to win games like this.
