Chelsea didn't start the season badly, they won the SuperCup and picked up 7 of the possible 9 points in the league. They only dropped points away with Liverpool when they were 0-1 up, but Chelsea got a red card at the end of the 1st half (James) and match ended 1-1 so from that point of view a point is also good. Their score is 6:1.
Chelsea have a Champions League group stage game home against Zenit on Wednesday (14.9.) but I don't think it will be a letdown. Chelsea have quality on the bench and there are players who have no problem to decide games.
Aston Villa have 4 points in the table, which doesn't look catastrophic yet, but they should have got more out of the opening 3 rounds, they have very playable opponents - Watford (3:2 L), Newcastle (2:0 W) and Brentford (1:1) and played 2 times at home. From this point of view, the 4 points are not enough. Aston Villa are currently in 11th place with 4 points and a 5:4 score.
Jack Grealish has left Villa, but Villa have found replacements (Bailey, Beundia, Ings). Up to six of their players (Buendia, Davis, Martinez, Sanson, Trezeguet) will miss the game due to injury or quarantine and the start of Konsa - Traore is also questionable.
Surprisingly, Chelsea couldn't beat A.Villa last season.
They only drew 1:1 at home and lost 2:1 away.
I believe that Chelsea will not falter this time and will beat A.Villa, the home team has absolutely all the prerequisites for that and I don't suppose that the upcoming Champions League match will have any impact on their performance.
Prediction:
Handicap Chelsea -1.5 @ 2.0 (bet365)
