CZECH REPUBLIC: 1. Liga - Round 7
I chose a match between a tragic Plzen and in good form Sparta Prague.
In my opinion, dropping out of the Conference League with CSKA Sofia will have fatal effects for Plzen. The problem is that Plzen as a company was used to something completely different. Suddenly they have to get rid of players (Brabec or Ba Loua), suddenly they miss Europe, suddenly they can't afford anyone on the Czech market. Suddenly the Prague "S" (Slavia and Sparta) are in a much better position. There is also information that Plzen is for sale and is looking for a new owner, which only speaks about the situation in Plzen.
After the failure in Bulgaria, they loss away (1:0) to the newcomer from Hradec Kralove. Plzen is currently second in the league behind Sparta. They have 15 points and a 9:4 score. They can win their games so far, but it is not a great performance. They've won four of their six games by just a goal. From my point of view, they work hard to score goals and they've also had a lot of luck in their games.
I'm not saying Plzen is without a chance against Sparta at home, but a win would surprise me.
I trust Sparta more in this game.
Under coach Vrba they are playing quite nice football and are starting to do well. After six rounds played they lead the whole league with 16 points (5 W / 1 D). Their score is 16:3.
The squad is excellent and young for Sparta Prague. A lot of players, led by Hlozek, can still improve. In addition, there is the Pavel Vrba factor, who has the motivation against Plzen taken care of and I believe that he will prepare Sparta very well.
It will be a battle of coaches who have a history in the opposing camp. That's what will make this duel all the more interesting. I believe that Sparta will not lose.
My bet:
Draw No Bet - Sparta Prague @ 1.80 (local bookie)
