Philadelphia having an excellent start to the season and is in 4th place in the tough Atlantic Division with a 6-2-2 score (but still has games to play). Excellent goaltending, a balanced offense (which will probably see the return of healthy 2nd line center Kevin Hayes) and a good overall impression of the game make the Flyers a dangerous team. Toronto has been on a roll and had a streak of five wins in a row, but that ended two days ago with a 1-5 loss to Los Angeles, which brought to mind several factors. Maple Leafs were riding too much of a scoring hurricane from their top four forwards (Marner, Matthews, Tavares and Nylander) and no one else joined them. In goal is the miraculous Jack Campbell. When these players don't have a game, Toronto has a problem. The Flyers have a much more balanced offense, with Carter Hart and Martin Jones in goal, and they have a clearly more reliable defense (25 goals conceded compared to 37 Toronto got).
I believe fatigue will take a heavy toll on Toronto, considering the dates of their previous games. Philadelphia has had 4 days off and plenty of time to prepare for this game.
My bet:
Double Chance: Philadelphia or Draw @ 1.65
