For Philadelphia, this is the first game of the new season, as last season Philadelphia finished 6th in the Eastern Division, thus not advancing to the Playoffs. Philadelphia rebuilt probably half of their defense during the break, adding to the well-playing Ivan Provorov, who scored 26 points last season, Clendening from Cleveland, who scored four points, Ellis from Nashville, who scored 23 points last season, Ristolainen from Buffalo, who scored 18 points, Keith Yandle from Florida, who scored 29 points, and York and Yegor from Lenigh Valley. Philly's offense is not bad with the departure of Jakub Voracek, while Philly have plenty of scoring forwards like Sean Couturier, who scored 41 points last season, Joel Farabee 38 points, Claude Giroux 43 points, Kevin Heyes 31 points, Travis Konecny 34 points and James Van Riemsdyk 43 points. The addition of Cam Atkinson from Columbus, who scored 34 points, and Derick Brassard from Arizona, who scored 20 points, will certainly benefit an already good offense.
Philly have Alison, Laczynski, Morin, Gates and Zamula injured, with the biggest loss being the injury to Gates, yet Philadelphia have a very experienced team as described above.
Vancouver have already started the season on 14.10.2021 when they lost to Edmonton in overtime 3:2.
Vancouver finished in last 8th place in the North Division last season and did not make the Play Offs. Last season was just not a good one for Vancouver, but now they have stepped up. Ekman Larsson came in from Arizona and scored 24 points and Vancouver also have a good defensive player in Hughes. On offense the mainstay is Boeser (49 points), Horvat (39 points), Miller (46 points) and Garland (39 points) who came from Arizona. Vancouver have injured players like Ferland, Keeper, Sutter and Boeser and Mott are also uncertain to start.
In this game I believe in a win for the home team Philadelphia.
My bet:
Match winner to decision: Philadelphia Flyers @ 1.68 (bet365)
