SOUTH AMERICA: World Cup - Qualification - Round 10
Paraguay is fighting for a place at the World Cup. After 8 qualifying matches (1 W / 5 D / 2 L) they are currently in 6th place. They are only two points behind the fifth place, which would guarantee them a place in the promotion to WC. The motivation to win will therefore be huge.
Paraguay drew 1-1 with a strong Colombia in their last qualifying match, which was also the bookmaker's favourite. However, Paraguay showed a very good performance in the match and even led after the 1st half. However, the victory was not kept in the end. Colombia star Cuadrado equalised just after half-time. Still, Paraguay should not be ashamed of their performance.
Their opponent is Venezuela. I dare to say that Venezuela is the weakest team in the whole qualification in South America and their results reflect that. Venezuela managed to win only once (2:1 against Chile) after 8 matches. They managed to draw (home 0:0 with Uruguay) again only once, the other 6 games are losses. The last time was lost in Peru 0-1, where they were clearly the worse team on the pitch.
