Premier League
Home coach Dean Smith will have his motivation taken care of on Tuesday night. Norwich will play Aston Villa, on whose bench Smith started this season but was sacked after a run of five losses. At the bench of the newcomer of the competition then started better (1-2-0), however, on the previous two occasions his current players did not score and returned to last place. It is true that in both duels they faced strong opponents (Manchester United, Tottenham), but neither goal scored combined with a scary start to the season returns the Canaries to the role of a clear relegation candidate.
Smith was replaced at Aston Villa by Steven Gerrard, who had a great comeback at Anfield last round, where his team lost narrowly 0-1. Needless to say, there was no disputing the home side's superiority, but the Villans need not be sad. Under the new coach, they have won three out of five games and will be favourites at the ground of last Norwich. Last time Norwich were in the Premier League, Aston Villa won 5-1 there and will take three points this time as well. In fact, apart from having better form, their ambitions this year are somewhere else and the visitors will soon start to fulfil them reliably thanks to their strong squad.
My bet:
Aston Villa @ 2.25 (bet365)
