Nations League - FINAL
France did not do well at all at the EURO where they were one of the favourites and I am sure that they will try to make up for it at least partially in today's final. Their opponents will be Spain who are missing several interesting names in the nomination.
Spain took on Italy in the semi-finals where they ended their unbeaten streak, but it has to be said that the Italians helped them a lot. Especially their captain Bonucci, who saw 2 yellow cards in the first half. Half time ended 0:2 and since the Italians have one less player, Spain kept their lead and won 2:1.
In the game against Italy, young Gavi became the youngest player in history to play for the senior A team of Spain and I have to say that the boy is a talent, but I'm sure it's also because Luis Enrique just doesn't have any extra choice. Compared to EURO, Spain doesn't have Dani Olmo or Morata at their disposal. F. Torres is in attack, he scored 2 times against the Italians, but he is not a typical 9.
On the other hand, there are the French, who really have something to improve. Already before EURO, Karim Benzema returned to the national team after many years and is having a fantastic season with 9 goals and 7 assists after 8 games in the league. He will be assisted in attack by K. Mbappé and I assume Pogba, who is having a good season anyway, will supply them with balls. The French didn't start well against Belgium where they were 0:2 down at half time but managed to turn the game around with 3 goals in the second half. (Benzema, Mbappe, Hernandez).
To sum up, the quality is definitely on France's side. The match will be played on neutral ground in Turin.
My bet:
To Lift the Tropy: France @ 1.75 (bet365)
