The favourite is the home team Novgorod. They have such names in their team as Agostino, Miele, Zhafyarov, Orlov, Tikhomirov, Hrivik, Zaar, Martynov, Shenfeld, etc. That's an individual quality that Sochi can't compare to.
Sochi may have started the KHL season better, but it's only a matter of time before the two clubs switch positions in the table.
Last season Novgorod managed to beat Sochi in both games 5:2 and 4:1. In the preparation before the start of this season Novgorod again beat Sochi (6:2).
I expect Novgorod to win the third meeting in 2021.
