In normal situation, I would count on Vegas to win, but Detroit has a good start to the season after many years, two great arrivals of Seider and Raymond and the genius of Steve Yzerman is already slowly showing. We can't deny Detroit a great fight, last time against Dallas they struggled for the first two periods, but in the third it still looked like a tie at times. I would definitely praise the great work of the first line and even though they only managed to win twice in the last 5 games, so against Vegas I would not put them in the role of such an outsider for several reasons.
Vegas Golden Knights have been a big surprise since the beginning of the season and they are definitely a great team, they managed to beat their opponents 3 times in the last 5 games and their form is definitely not the worst. The main reason I'm playing against them is the missing of Knights. The team is missing Karlsson, Martinez, Pacioretty + 3 other minor players. Marchesssault, who had the most points in team so far, was not seen in the last game and he was put on the covid list. The absence of almost most of the key players, especially forwards must be terribly noticeable and Detroit should take advantage of this opportunity.
Mutual games suggest that Detroit knows how to play against Vegas, in the last 3 games Red Wings won and the last game was just 10 days ago when Detroit won 5:2 at home.
At odds of 2.90, I'm definitely to play an underrated Detroit win and hope for a win like Buffalo did against Pittsburgh.
My prediction: Detroit Red Wings (in regular time) @ 2.90 (bet365)
safer bet: Double Chance: Detroit Red Wings or Draw @ 1.68 (bet365)
