Seattle is in 15th place in the Western Conference after 29 games with 23 points and a score of 81:103, 44:53 at home. Despite the fact that Seattle has one more game than Edmonton, they have 15 less goals scored, which is a huge difference in offense and Seattle's defense isn't working with 103 goals conceded (Edmonton 87). At the end of November there was a sign of a little bit of form on Seattle's side when they won 4 out of 5 games. But lately they are playing not so good again and out of the last 5 games they have only one win and the score is 9:19 with 8 goals scored against Columbus and San Jose which is not a hit parade. In their last game Seattle lost 1-4 to Anaheim.
Edmonton is in 8th place in the Western Conference after 28 games with 34 points and a score of 96:87, 40:37 away. 80% of Edmonton is based on the star duo Draisaitl - McDavid who have not been doing well lately and Edmonton has had 6 losses in a row and they have only scored 9 goals in those 6 games, which is a huge unusual for Edmonton. However, in their last game at home, they have already woke up and beat Columbus 5-2, and they had 45 shots on the Columbus goal! What's most amazing is that McDavid hasn't scored a goal in 6 games and the last time he scored was on Seattle ice on December 4, so I think it's just a question of when he'll start scoring again and against who else but below average Seattle?
Despite the absence of some players on the Edmonton side, I think Edmonton is rightly the favorite and they shouldn't lose to Seattle for the second time in a row.
My prediction: Edmonton Oilers (in regular time) @ 2.25 (bet365)
