NHL players will skip 2022 Winter Olympics

It’s confirmed.

Ice hockey at Winter Olympics 2022 in Beijing, China suffered a huge blow as NHL confirmed their players won’t be let to perform at the tournament.

Covid-19 is the reason NHL already postponed 50 matches, this had put a question mark about Olympics last days and now the league decided to use planned three weeks long break originally scheduled for Olympics to play postponed matches.

Hockey fans and bettors - will you watch the tournament anyway? And how about your bets?

I will definitely not watch but I probably wouldn’t watch either as I don’t feel it’s still the greatest international tournament. For me there is no interesting international hockey tournament at this moment.

I will rather watch and bet on the NHL itself!

Nah when it’s into ice hockey I’m always looking for value, so I may place some bets on the Olympics hockey but I will not watch the tournament - reasons already said in the post above…

I get the reasoning, and it makes sense given everything, but it's hard not to be disappointed. Was really looking forward to seeing NHL players back at the Olympics.

I'm sure a large number of players are also crushed by the decision. You only get so many shots at the Olympics.

Is anyone surprised? The NHL did this before covid and they were probably overjoyed to have a legitimate reason this time.

I hate this so much. I understand the reasoning, but I still hate it. I was really looking forward to seeing NHL players in the Olympics and once again that gets taken away. And I feel so bad for players who may not get another shot at this...
