Although it may not seem like it given their position, Edmonton is not standing firmly on their feet. They are third in the Western Conference with 32 points and still have an excellent score of 16 wins, 7 losses. But that's mainly pumped up by the fact that they've won nine times in their first ten games. In the last 13, their score is 7-6. Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl lead NHL in scoring, but who's next? Oilers have lost their last two games, and especially the recent 1-5 home loss to Los Angeles showed weaknesses. There's a lack of balance on offense. The power play is not always effective. The goalkeepers is not top-notch. McDavid and Draisaitl can still pull it off on their own, but every once in a while they don't have a day.
Now comes Minnesota, which can be credited with green fives in almost every activity. A balanced attack that has scored 92 goals, the most in NHL after Florida. Great team mentality. Outstanding goalie Cam Talbot. Oilers are candidates for a short-term crisis because the successes of October mask how mediocre they currently are. Wild, as a banged up team with no great expectations, will be a dangerous opponent.
My prediction: Double Chance: Draw or Minnesota Wild @ 1.62 (bet365)
