In this game, I'll try an unusual but interesting bet for me, namely on the number of Edmonton shots in the game, where the limit is set at 30.5. That seems pretty low to me, considering the teams that will face each other.
Edmonton has recorded a total of 1,041 shots in 32 games this season. That means that on average, they have 32.5 shots on goal. McDavid (119) and Draisaitl (105) have the most shots. Nurse (92) is third behind them. Edmonton shouldn't miss any of its active scorers except for Nugent-Hopkins (71).
On the other side will be NY Rangers, whose goaltenders faced a total of 1,050 shots in 33 games, an average of just almost 32 shots per game.
Oilers last five games and their shooting in regulation time:
vs. Islanders 19 shots
vs. NJ Devils 36 shots
vs. St. Louis 28 shots
vs. Seattle 41 shots
vs. Columbus 45 shots
Rangers last five games and shots against in regulation time:
vs. Tampa 38 shots
vs. Tampa 28 shots
vs. Florida 32 shots
vs. Vegas 30 shots
vs. Arizona 31 shots
The two teams have met only once this season, in November, when Edmonton won 6-5 after overtime and recorded 37 shots in regulation time.
Again, I expect an offensive spectacle full of shots and goals. I think Edmonton will break the 30.5 shot mark.
My bet:
Number of shots on goal in a game - Edmonton Oilers: Over 30.5 @ 1.84
