In tonight's portion of NHL games, I'll get into the one between New York Islanders and Nashville Predators, where I think there could be a lot of two-minute penalties.
This time I'll start with the stats and how many penalties fell in the last five H2H games:
10x + (1x in overtime, which not counts in bet)
2x + (2x 5 minutes for fighting - these penalties do not count in the bet)
11x + (3x 10 minutes for roughing - these penalties do not count in the bet)

So it cannot be said that it is not sparking in mutual matches. Islanders broke an incredibly long streak of 11 straight games without a win with their last game in Ottawa, which they won 5:3. Thanks to that, New Yorkers are already very sharp and even in Ottawa during that win they went to the bench for 2 minutes 7 times (returning Chara, Pelech, Mayfield, Dobson and Clutterbuck - all of whom will play today). Islanders are not a team that is careful about fouls and is not often penalized, on the contrary, and it's not surprising, when things go extremely wrong, emotions run high and players are very sharp on fouls - i.e. playing beyond their limit.
Nashville is an ambitious team that won't be intimidated by a tougher approach to the game. They have sharp guys in their ranks like Harpur, Carrier, Jeannot, Josi, Borowiecki, Kunin, Myers, Tomasino and Cousins - all of whom can be pretty much penalized. Considering that they got into it with each other twice in their last game in Detroit, maybe Predators will take a break with the fisticuffs and go more for the game where the penalties are less (those 2 minutes).
Teams can play decently together outside the rules. There are some Europeans on both sides who will hopefully be angry with each other. Nashville is also not doing as well as they would like (they are 4th in the Central Division - the last one that guarantees a spot for the PO - within a point of St. Louis and Colorado (but they have 2 games to play) and behind them Dallas and Winnipeg (but Stars have 2 games to play, Jets have the same). So Predators need to get full points. Even a quicker goal can start a tough game here and if it's especially in the home team's goal, we can look forward to it going their way because they just aren't good at the moment and all it takes is a small reason to turn the tide.
Predators are a team that isn't afraid to play hard and isn't afraid to fight back. A limit of 7+ in regulation time is something I'll take a try at, as Islanders are embarrassing at home as they are the most tragic team in the Eastern Conference with 2 points and a 6-18 score.
