Memphis is playing great without their main star Morant, as shown by the 16-11 score, they sit with in 4th place in the West. They'll likely face a tough test tonight against Embiid's Philadelphia. Complications for Memphis are that great defender Adams, who injuried his ankle in the last game and probably won't start today. Jackson Jr. is having knee problems and it's also uncertain if he'll wear the jersey today. The defensive duty on Embiid without Adams would fall to Jackson, who is great defensively, but he has foul trouble at times and that would likely occur against Embiid. Memphis is playing great, specifically Dillon Brooks and Desmond Bane, but the question marks surrounding the players on the roster are just too much.
Philadephia is also doing very well with a 15-12 score and they don't have Simmons playing at all. If the Sixers can get someone decent for Simmons, they could go very far this year. Now they finally have all their players healthy and when they all meet they are very dangerous. They even beat GS Warriors last game, which just underscores their strength when everyone comes together. Against Warriors, Coach Doc Rivers finally moved Danny Green to the bench and let Australian defender, Matisse Thybull, stand out, who tortured MVP candidate Curry. Thybulle is already showing great defensive skills at such a young age and we should see him among the league's best defenders this year.
Memphis isn't playing badly, but they'll face Phila tonight. I expect Philadelphia to build on their win against GSW and beat Memphis without Morant tonight.
