Montreal surprised everyone last season when they reached the finals, but they certainly didn't envision the new year that way. They are looking in vain for the form of last year and defeat after defeat is coming. They have now played 25 games and counts only 6 wins. They have 19 losses with an overall score of 56-89. They are 14th in the Eastern Conference ahead of Islanders and Ottawa, but have 7 and respectively 4 more games than their rivals from the bottom of the table. In away games, they are the worst team in the league, having scored only 5 points out of a possible 24! They have the worst defense in the entire league.
Missing: Byron, Edmundson, Callagher, Hoffman, Niku, Price
Nashville has played 23 games, collected 25 points and is in 9th place in the Western Conference with a score of 64:65. Nashville had a slower start to the season, but now has 12 wins and is looking to fight for the top eight in the playoffs. They are very strong at home, winning 7 of their last 10 games (Columbus, New Jersey, Anaheim, Arizona, Islanders, San Jose, LA) and losing 3 (Boston, Vegas, Rangers).
The teams met 3 weeks ago in Montreal, where the visitors had a bad start to the game and were down 0:5 at the half and the final score was 3:6.
