CHALLENGER MEN - SINGLES: Cary (USA), hard - 1/16-finals
With the move to the USA, I'll bet on Torpegaard (ATP: 216.), who lives in America for his studies and has a lot of experience with local tournaments. He played the semifinals here in Cary last year and beat Monteiro or Nakashima. This year he has a 6/12 score, but after switching to hard he will definitely be better, it was clear that he won't do much on clay and grass.
Lacko (ATP: 191.) is past the prime of his performance, this year his score is 8:16, 5:9 on hard court. He has lost several matches on hard surface this year to opponents who are on paper quite balanced, like for example to Gojowczyk in Montpellier 2:6 / 1:6, to Gal at the Biella Challenger 4:6 / 3:6. Last time he lost unexpectedly easy to Schnur 0:6 / 4:6 in the qualification in Newport.
My bet:
Mikael Torpegaard @ 1.72 (bet365)
