Memphis has a young team with a lot of potential. Already last year, the Grizzlies slipped into the playoffs and subsequently took at least one game from Utah in the series. The team is primarily driven by the phenomenal Ja Morant, who is currently one of the MVP candidates. He is complemented by young Bane, Brooks, Jackson and under the basket great Steven Adams. Grizzlies are 7-7 so far this year, but I believe their performance will only go up. Their team is currently complete and only Tillie is missing, which is not a big loss.
The Clippers are 9-5 so far this year, having recently pulled a streak of 7 wins in a row, but have played most of their games at home and are 2-2 away so far this year!
The bet is based primarily against the Clippers' injury list. The team is missing Leonard, Preston, Winslow, Johnson, Morris and probably BATUM and MANN will not be available for tonight's game! It looks like Clippers will have to play tonight's game with a rotation of about 8 players and that will be a tough challenge indeed.
These two teams have already played each other this year and Memphis won 120-114 in Los Angeles. The home environment, the young Memphis lineup compared to the older Clippers squad, the recent matchup and especially the significant visitor injury list are clear factors for me to bet on Memphis.
