The home side United brought back their lost son CR7, who has repaid the favour on several occasions since his arrival, with a goal in the final minutes to decide the game. United are currently in fifth position with seventeen points from ten games. With beat against Tottenham (3:0), they broke an unfavourable streak of four league games with only one point, where they lost to Liverpool, Leicester, Aston Villa and managed to draw with Everton. At the time, United were also knocked out of the English League Cup by West Ham. However, the biggest problem is the poor defensive performance, which is hampering a relatively productive offense. They travelled to Bergamo in the Champions League during the week, where once again Ronaldo secured at least a draw late in the game. Unfortunately, Varane was injured in that game and next Pogba, who was sent off in the loss to Liverpool, will not be able to start.

Visiting Man City have won three points more than their opponent and rivval today. This keeps them in third position with six wins, two draws and the same number of losses. They have scored similar goals, but the biggest difference is defensive performance. City have only conceded six goals compared to United's fifteen. In their last league game, they were slapped by Crystal Palace when they lost 2-0. And they lost Laporte, who was sent off. In the Champions League, they beat Club Brugge 4-1. What City miss most is a classic striker who scores 15+ goals a season. So far they have goals spread out amongst a larger number of players.

After four league games without a win, Manchester United managed to get a full point at Tottenham (3:0) before the city derby. The fact that they haven't lost to their big rivals in the league for four times in a row (3-1-0) and last held a similarly long streak between 2008 and 2011 may be an inspiration for the home side. On the other hand, United have already lost seven competitive matches at their stadium this calendar year, the most since 2001, when it was also seven, and another defeat could set an unpleasant record for them in the new millennium.

Manchester City have won seven times at Old Trafford in the history of the Premier League, which no one else has ever done (only Liverpool have done the same). In the last round they unexpectedly lost at home to Crystal Palace (0:2) and have not scored a goal in the third league game this season, which is the same as in the whole of last season combined.

The home side will be very pumped up and determined to make amends for their 0-5 loss to Liverpool, and Cristiano Ronaldo will certainly be looking to build on his previous successful record. Indeed, the famous Portuguese has managed to score in three of his last five league clashes with Manchester City.

Ronaldo loves this type of matches but also we need to say it’s similar to Liverpool match, Man United is not favorite here and City should be in the lead during the match. That’s when Ronaldo can put too much effort and receive a card (he was booked against Liverpool too)

What I hate about this United is how clueless they are when attacking... It could be 3-0 or 0-3, United will always make their way to the goal harder than it is. It hurts to see how they are waiting and when the pressure from defense is rising it ends up with Bruno crossing into the box where Ronaldo is trying to win the header.

This team can do much different... but there should be someone to tell them, coach them.
