Premier League
The loss at West Ham is forgotten. Last round, Liverpool beat Arsenal 4-0 at home. They are currently five points clear of fifth place and can look upwards towards the top spot without any worries. Liverpool have already scored 35 league goals this season (five more than leaders Chelsea), and have led at home on four of the six occasions after the first half. In addition, coach Klopp's men beat Southampton in seven of the previous eight league meetings and have scored a total of 12 goals in the last four at home - they have not conceded once. That doesn't look good for a not-so-productive Southampton - the visitors have scored just 11 goals this season, the second-lowest total of all. To make matters worse, Saints lost 13 of their 17 away league games in the 2021 calendar year, conceding a total of 43 goals. There is slight hope for the visitors with the form of striker Armstrong, who has contributed a goal in each of his last three appearances (1 goal and 2 assists) and an honourable success for Southampton cannot be ruled out. But it probably won't be enough for more than that.
H2H: (08.05.21)
Liverpool 2:0 Southampton (1:0)
My bets:
Half Time Result - Liverpool @ 1.72 (bet365)
Asian Handicap: Liverpool -1.5 @ 1.77 (bet365)
